What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive skin treatment that buffs away the outermost layer of the skin to create a smoother and younger appearance. Helping with a smoother and cleaner looking complexion.
What does Microdermabrasion involve?
Your dermal therapist will remove any makeup or dirt from the skin by doing a double deep cleanse, then using a hand held device with a vacuum like suction they will exfoliate and clean out the pores with the choice of appropriate tip for your skin e.g. diamond tip with different grits or more gentle tips. After this process your therapist will then perform some extractions if needed and finish with appropriate products or extras that were selected for the treatment.
What risks are involved with Microdermabrasion?
There are minimal risks involved with Microdermabrasion, the only risks generally involved is that it can spread infections from one part of your skin to another. Therefore it is not recommended to have a microdermabrasion if you have infections such as impetigo, warts, herpes or other viral infections, on the rare occasion it can flare up rosacea. Microdermabrasion is not suitable for people with bleeding disorders, open sores, warts, people who are prone to keloid scarring or sun and wind burn.
