VASCULAR LESIONS
These lasers are used to treat red lesion on the skin such as broken blood vessels (telangiectasias), rosacea and birth marks. No anaesthetic is typically required, and depending on what lesions are being treated, side effects such as bruising or swelling settle quickly. The number of sessions required varies and sessions are usually spaced at four to six week intervals.
One of our Dermatologists will treat you for this.
Vascular Lesions
Including port-wine stains and facial telangiectasias, vascular lesions are so called because of an increase in the blood vessels under the site.
Rosacea
This condition causes redness, flushing and often a facial rash. Many of our patients tell us they find it socially disabling.
Poikiloderma of Civatte
This is a discolouration of the neck and chest due to sun damage. There’s usually a clear demarcation from normal skin along the neckline of your clothing. It may present itself as either a redness or brown pigmentation, along with a textural change to the skin.
Visible Facial Blood Vessels
These can be caused by genetics, sun exposure, or trauma from skin cancer surgery, acne or conditions such as rosacea. These unsightly vessels may become more apparent with triggers such as heat, caffeine, emotion or alcohol.
What are the side effects?
There may be some bruising and swelling after each session but this usually only lasts a few days. The treatment is quick and easy with minimal discomfort.
